Minkey (Australian for “mini hockey”) is a great way to introduce your daughter to the sport of field hockey. She will learn the basic fundamental skills of the sport from the high school coaches and experienced players and compete in small games! They are motivated and ready to provide an atmosphere where all the players can have fun and meet new friends. Many of our high school players got their start at Minkey!

Times: Kindergarten - 1st Grade: 5:30 - 7:00pm; 2nd Grade - 6th Grade: 5:30 - 7:30pm

Equipment (required)

Field hockey stick, mouth guard, shin guards and a water bottle. Players should wear sneakers and proper active wear.

Sticks can be purchased at Play it Again Sports, Dick’s or online (Longstreth.com, Amazon.com, etc.). When ordering a stick, the top of the stick should reach the athlete’s hip bone.

A limited number of sticks are available for purchase ($25) or borrowing through the program.

If your family has a used youth stick and would like to get rid of it, we would be happy to accept donated youth sticks to help girls learn and play the sport.
