What activities that the Hui supported in the past would you like to see continue in a safe, social-distanced format?
Awards Assembly - This occurs in May during school hours. Students are recognized for various reasons. It is also a final goodbye and good luck for the 6th graders.
Book Fair - The kickoff for semester 2 of the book fair is usually the Celebrate Reading Night. There is sometimes a semester 1 book fair. Proceeds from the book fair help the library get new books.
Celebrate Reading Night - A social and fundraising event where a guest speaker read a story aloud. Also the kick off for the school book fair.
Celebrate the Arts - A social and fundraising even where students' art works were presented.
Computer Science For All Night - A social and fundraising event where people got to experience different aspects of computer science and technology. Usually occurring in December this event required lots of parent volunteers.
Costume Ball - A social and fundraising event usually occurring in October. Kids came in costumes and there was a parade.
Craft Night - A social and fundraising event where families could sign up to make crafts. Some crafting stations were run by local businesses.
Dave's Ice Cream Fundraiser - Students sold tickets for 2 pints of ice cream/ticket as a fundraiser. Ice cream pick up was done on Saturday and used parent volunteers to assist in pick up.
Family Fun Night - A social and fundraising event usually occurring in May. Kids play games to win prizes.
Grade Level Drama - Each grade level performed a play. Parents participation was necessary for costume and set design. Plays were performed once a month with each grade level being assigned a month.
Grandparents' Day - Grandparents of students come to see their grandchildren perform and each lunch with them. The event usually happened once a month with different grade levels being assigned a month.
School Technology Session - An idea for meetings for parents to learn about technology use in school. The meeting would probably be broken down by grade level
Silent Auction - We had a silent auction as part of Family Fun Night with items donated from the Momilani parents and community.
Snow Day - "Snow" was brought in to the school via a dumper truck and the kids took turns playing in the snow by grade levels.
