Meditative Aliveness

In this workshop we will go deeply into the sense of the living body, and begin to dance with the ways it protects us from finding deeper inner spaces. We will work with different ways of getting a better sense of stability, sensitivity and deepening, and we will work with sensing the silent inner signals in these activities. It is early spring, so it may be quite cool, but with enough clothes we will also meditate outside, opening to the feeling that our bodies are also the body of the world.

Marianne will lead this 5-day meditation training focusing on a spiritual structure of deepening our connection to spirit and presence. She will use modern brain research and practices from modern developmental psychology and psychotherapy. There will be time for exchanges and discussion along the way. For the first two days, we will focus on meditation practices that bring us into a deeper and more delicate connection to the living body and the wordless living awareness inside us.

After the first two days, there will be one day to practice individually, or to rest, explore or enjoy the Tuscan area.

During the last three days, we will continue into a deeper sense of connecting to the wordless parts of ourselves and to each other, leaning into the sense of deeper awareness, a softer sense of heart energy – and into grace.

Contents

  • Through different kinds of movement, we will discover and energize weak areas in our bodies
  • Through guided meditations, we will practice deepening into a heartfelt witnessing of our experience
  • Through interaction exercises, we will practice some of these attitudes in interaction
  • In group exchanges with Marianne, we will make space to explore emerging personal experiences and find ways to balance or adjust experiences that need it
  • In the Tuscan landscape, we will listen to the sense of the divine energy that blooms in nature and touches us with grace

Casola in Lunigiana
The place
Il Convento is a former nun's convent wich is located in Casola in Lunigiana in Tuscany, Italy and hosts Yoga and meditation retreats, Tango, and other workshops.
"The monastery was built in 1549. For three centuries it was the home of the nuns of Santa Martha before being privatised."
"The medieval mountain village of Casola is located in the valley of the Aulella river, in between the Apuanian Alps and the Appenin mountain range, and overlooked by Pizzo d'Uccello (m 1781) and Monte Tondo (m 1785). A walled village, it was a strategic defence post of the nearby fortresses in Regnano and Codiponte."
"Lunigiana is a beautiful region in Northern Tuscany, wild and unspoilt by tourism.
Here, you will find rolling green hills, endless chestnut forests, pretty villages, vineyards, olive groves, springs and rivers, all overlooked by the steep and rocky mountain range of the Apuanian Alps and the high meadows of the Appenins.
The sea, La Spezia and Cinque Terre, Lucca, Pisa and Florence can be reached by train or by car in one or two hours.
The Lago di Gramolazzo and the caves", and also "the swimming pool of Equi Terme are also located nearby", about a 25 minutes car ride away from Il Convento.
