Hello,
As we all know, Coronavirus is rocking the world. The Met, Carnegie Hall, and Broadway closing have garnered headlines, but the lives of freelance artists may be most in flux, as the ability of performers to "work from home" is nonexistent. It's beyond urgent that visibility of this situation rise as much as possible.
Due to an immense volume of responses to my social media posts, I am establishing this form for fastest response. I will be sharing these stories one by one in a blog series, with an aim of pitching more comprehensive stories with this dataset to different more mainstream outlets. I really appreciate you being thorough with the survey so that I can organize the info and release it as quickly as possible. However, if you'd rather only fill some parts in now and go over the rest via phone call, there's an option for that down below.
In case you don't know me: I'm John Hong, a clarinetist who ghostwrites artist bios and assists with artist branding. I used to be based in NYC where I worked as the first full time Copywriter for National Sawdust, an internationally recognized new music non-profit venue. I have written for the Juilliard Journal, the San Francisco Conservatory of Music Newsroom, National Sawdust Log, and have written copy for streaming service Primephonic.
Thanks again, and you're welcome to reach me on Twitter (@John_Hong), Facebook, or my email for further questions:
