Gospel of Grace Baptist Church Reopening Massachusetts COVID-19 Code of Honor:

Greetings from Gospel of Grace Baptist Church in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace and peace to you.

It is not any news that our modern day culture is facing a crisis of trust in its institutions and information sources. So, in a pandemic situation, it is essential that church leaders identify reliable information at the local, state, and national level to stay updated on recent developments. Christian character and honesty are foundational to the church biblical faith mission. Therefore, in compliance with our US Governmental standards we expect all members and visitors to demonstrate integrity and honor— regardless of their mode of prevention utilized in this season. We recognize the importance of being accountable for both our personal and community Christian behavior.

We understand there will be those who choose not to attend public church worship services and that is fine. We don’t want anyone to feel uncomfortable or unsafe. As of Sunday, April 4th, 2021, we do want to be open for those who desire to attend. Please note, we are not forcing anyone to attend, only offering the option. Members can continue to attend our private service online via Facebook. Even if you opt-out from attending any of our public worship services remember that we should practice social responsibility and abide by the highest Code of Honor and encourage honesty and integrity among fellow public worshippers.

All persons, including those in our leadership team, should remain at least six feet apart to the greatest extent possible, both inside and outside of the church building following the CDC recommendations. All members should be wearing cloth face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain especially in places of significant community-based transmission. Thus, we as a church, are requiring that all have face coverings or masks prior to entering our building. You may worship inside the church building as you please with or without your face mask on.

According to the CDC, COVID-19 does not affect every person the same way and some are at higher risk if they become sick, including older adults and those with existing medical conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, and lung disease. With that in mind, we are asking any elderly members in the high-risk category of over 60+ in our church who don’t feel safe and all those who have young children to stay home until they feel confident to join us in our public services.

Since legally exposing anyone to a known risk of contracting coronavirus may be considered reckless or grossly negligent conduct, we are requiring everyone who is planning to attend any of our public services at Gospel of Grace Baptist Church voluntarily to register in advance. Our maximum capacity per service is 40% building capacity. Furthermore, it’s required that everyone must sign this code of honor stating that they have read and understood and are attending our church services at their own free-will under no obligation nor under any compulsion.

In essence, let’s remember that our individual health and safety is the most important priority at this time. As a result, we are requiring that all who decide to attend our public worship services, to sign this ministry code of honor and conduct themselves in a Christ-like manner, both behaviorally and ethically, during the entire process of COVID-19.

By signing this Christian code of honor agreement, I agree to hold the Gospel of Baptist Church and its pastoral leadership entirely free from any liability, including financial responsibility for injuries incurred, regardless of whether injuries are caused by negligence. I also acknowledge the COVID-19 risks involved by attending any public gatherings with other people these include but are not limited to getting sick with this virus.
