iPOP - Song Writing Competition  
GENERAL GUIDELINES

1. The IPOP 2021: Iligan Songwriting Competition Season 2 event is open to all bona fide residents of Iligan City.
2. Registration is free via online form.
3. The date of registration, deadline, and final presentation of events shall be:
• Registration: August 25 – September 14  
• Deadline: September 14, 11:59 pm
• Announcement of TOP 8:  September 15
• Recording: September 17
• Airing of Entries: September 26
• Announcement of Winner: September 29
4. Upon registration, the participants must upload one (1) valid ID and barangay clearance as proof of residency.
5. Each category will have Top 8 Finalists who will then proceed to the competition proper. Top 8 for Iligan-Based Category and Top 8 for Open Interpretation.
6. The final music entries will be aired online at the LGU Iligan Official Facebook Page.
7. A People’s Choice Award shall be given to the participant(s) with the most reacted music video (except angry) on social media (Facebook) and another People’s Choice Award shall be given to the music video with the most number of views on YouTube.
8. The outputs produced by the participants shall form part of the property of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Iligan.
9. Deduction of points shall be made by the Chairman of the Board of Judges & Tabulators.
10. The verdict of the Board of Judges is final and irrevocable.

ILIGAN – BASED CATEGORY
SONG WRITING CONTEST

1. The song composition must be the original composition of the participants (lyrics/message, musical arrangement).
2. The genre of choice is Pop (Ethno-Pop, Jazz Pop, etc.)
3. Themes of songs must revolve around the theme of DIYANDI Festival, Iligan City, its people, tradition, and culture.
4. The lyrics of the song must be in Visayan/Cebuano dialect. One or a combination of musical instruments may be used.
5. Song entries must not exceed four (4) minutes, including intro and extro.
6. The song entry must not have been used in any previous competitions or commercially released (i.e., recorded and commercially distributed, sold to the public or uploaded in any online/social media platforms).
7. Words with registered trademarks/brand names, explicit and offensive lyrics, are strictly not allowed.
8. All song entries (musical composition/arrangement) shall be considered FINAL once submitted and cannot be modified nor altered prior to the selection and announcement of winners.
9. Song lyrics in PDF Form, Arial Font, Font Size and mp3 file of the musical composition should be submitted at youthaffairsiligan2019@gmail.com on or before September 14, 2021, 11:59 P.M.
10. The composer has the sole discretion and right to choose/assign the interpreter, producer, and arranger, to be used for the recording and performance of the entries for the performance in the Finals. However, the Organizers may give suggestions which the composer may consider.
11. The participant shall provide his/her desired instruments which will be used in the recording. The organizers will provide the recording venue.
12. The participants signify that their entries are all original and had not been used nor published in any modes of publication before this competition. They must also agree that their works shall be used by the City Government of Iligan for promotional purposes.
13. Any violent words, distasteful behavior, lyrics that could encourage negative conduct and or damage to the organizers and City Government premises and properties will result to automatic disqualification of the team.
14. Except for the rules mentioned above which merits automatic disqualifications, any violation of the above-mentioned guidelines shall result to a 2-point deduction from the over-all score.
15. Winning entries shall be owned by the City Government of Iligan and may be officially used in all functions with proper attribution to the winning band.

OPEN INTERPRETATION CATEGORY
