We have asked you to read the School Re-opening Plan which is sent with this survey. This plan provides the Alert Level 3 Guidelines for Schools and information to explain how we will make it work.

You will now understand that this will not be school as usual.

Safety is the priority. Supervision of distance learning is the mission. Children will continue the learning that they have been doing at home. Children will be grouped in bubbles, intially of up to 10 (later possibly up to 20). Siblings will be together. Children are not likely to be with their classroom teacher. Each child will have a designated place in the classroom, a metre away from others. Outside breaks will be scheduled to prevent contact with any other bubble.

Your decision is for the first week of Level 3 viz..Wed to Tues 29-30 April, 1 May, 4-5 May.
We will seek registrations for the following week (6-13 May ) on 4 May. This week by week approach will likely extend if the Alert Level 3 continues for more than two weeks.

We cannot accommodate a mixture of home and school days; nor can we accommodate people who decide on the day they would like their children at school. We need time to effectively plan the human and physical resources to acheive the Alert Level 3 safety requirements.

Wherever possible children should stay at home and continue to access distance learning. Today the Minister of Education encouraged the extension of the household bubble to include a neighbour or other trusted adult to supervise learning at home if both parents are working.

We thank everyone who continues to do their best supporting their children with distance learning and often whilst managing their own challenges working from home. These are testing times.

We also know that some parents have no choice and we will do our utmost to support you by providing supervsion at school to allow you to get our economy back up and running.
