Plant the Moon Challenge Interest Form
The Plant the Moon Challenge is a student activity and competition in support of NASA's Artemis program to send humans back to the Moon! Understanding how we can use lunar soils to grow crops for future human missions is one of the next great steps in supporting our return to the Moon!

The Plant the Moon Challenge provides students with an activity kit including lunar soil simulant for up to 10 plant growth experiments, a Project Guide and a pH meter. Teams will follow the Project Guide to define their own plant growth experiments to see what parameters will grow the best crops using lunar simulant. Students will define their own experimental parameters such as the setup, amount of water used, and nutrients or fertilizer added to the lunar simulant to help support plant growth.

The Plant the Moon Challenge is currently in draft mode and is expected to be launched late in 2020 for experiments to be conducted during the spring of 2021. Launching this challenge will benefit greatly by understanding who is interested in this opportunity. Help us out by expressing your interest on this short form by October 15th!
