Good day Bishop Grandin Parents

Applying for your sons " casual leave" refers to a time your son needs to leave the school premises in a private capacity (ie no need to apply for school sporting commitments; their coaches will do that). There is no need to apply for leave on a Friday if your son is a "weekly" Boarder.

Please complete this form a minimum of 24 hours prior to your sons exit. I will confirm that your son has permission to leave and that the staff member entrusted with his safety knows where and when he will leave and return.

If your son needs leave over a weekend (specifically as a termly Boarder), please may your request be submitted before 8am on the Friday prior to weekend.

All boys are required to be back in the boarding house before 10:00pm at night. Boys returning from casual leave may be required to undergo an alcohol breathalyzer test.

Submission of this document may not necessarily translate into permission to exit being granted. It is the responsibility of all BOARDERS to verify that their leave has been approved before leaving the school property.

A lack of adherence to this potentially leaves the College and its staff liable in the event of unforeseen and/or tragic circumstances. In terms of liability, no boarding staff will give permission for your son to leave the property if this form has not been submitted.

All weekly Boarders who wish to stay in over the whole weekend will be charged R250 for the weekend, all you have to do is book meals for the whole weekend.
