The Pelican Bay and its barrier islands are being destroyed for the benefit of one developer.  The Old Pelican Bay Estates project is already underway and the water quality, wildlife, and hurricane risk to our homes is very real.  Not since the 1960's or 1970's has such devastation to a barrier island taken place.  Developers are not meeting either the requirements or the spirit of the permit. We ask Lee County Board of Commissioners and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection to immediately stop the project until such time as regulatory agencies may investigate violations and require compliance with permits and laws.
