Transfer Research Experience (T-REx) Application Form

Eligibility: Must be an accepted UC San Diego incoming transfer student with a major within the
Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry, Physics, or Astronomy & Astrophysics(**). Prior research experience is not required.

What: A 4-week research experience program the summer before the first enrolled quarter (Fall 2024) where
you work in a research group in the Department of Chemistry/Biochemistry, Department of Physics, and Department of Astronomy & Astrophysics side-by-side with other undergrad student researchers, grad students, and post-docs.

Benefits: $1000 stipend for each participant

Program dates: Starting first week of August and ends the first week of September.

*A minimum of 10 hours of research done per week. Scheduling will depend on your faculty mentor. Note that transportation and housing are not provided.
