March 31st 2023 Free Book Blast Sign Up: Trans Romances or Books with Romantic Elements
This form is an invitation for authors of romance books and books with romantic elements, featuring trans characters, to participate in a free book blast on March 31. Your books will be included in genre categories, and also highlighted in a featured box for Trans Visibility Day, which happens to coincide with the date already selected for this quarterly event.

A few key notes:
1. There is no charge to participate (ever).
2. In general, participation in these quarterly free book blasts is organized through a FB group (which anyone is welcome to join, via a participating author's invitation, more information on romancebookworms.com), but for purposes of this form and this form only, membership in that group is NOT required for authors of trans romance.
3. There is no length requirement for these free reads. If you have a prequel, short story, or something like that, that's fine! The only requirement for this particular promotion is that the book must be free on retailers (so BookFunnel, etc. isn't what we do).
4. Sign ups for other authors for this particular date has passed; this form is only for authors of trans fiction.

*** THIS IS A ONE BOOK PER PEN NAME EVENT! But if you already have submitted a book with a cis protagonist, and you have a second book with a trans protagonist you would like to make free, feel free to fill out this form with one more book! ***

also -->>> PLEASE NOTE: If you are only including some retailers, leave the other fields BLANK. Do not add "n/a" or something like that; it is text that would show up on the final website and is cause to have an entry deleted. * * * * FOR ALL LINKS, PLEASE INCLUDE HTTP: or HTTPS: at the start * * * * Links that are not properly pasted in will go nowhere; again, that's cause for an entry to be deleted, unfortunately, due to the administrative workload involved in fixing them.

Sign up for authors who want to participate in a newsletter and social media free book blast on March 31, 2023 "Stuff Your eReader!" promotion, hosted on the romancebookworms.com website.

Books that are not actually free on the day of the event are removed from the list. Due to the size of this promotion, the admin are not able to reach out to individual authors about this. It is your responsibility to make sure the books are free. We suggest planning this immediately after signing up. (Get the price match going or schedule your free days) DO NOT WAIT UNTIL TWO DAYS BEFORE THE EVENT TO COORDINATE THE FREE PRICE.

TWO NOTES FOR KU AUTHORS:
1. If you are using free days, I strongly recommend using THREE of them, March 30-April 1. We sometimes see a spike of activity the day before, and page visits continue for two days due to the lag of social media. That being said, it's only required to use one day for March 31.
2. If you use a free day, the price flips over at midnight Pacific time. Don't panic if you check at midnight Eastern and it's not free yet!

Do you understand that what you fill out on this form will be AUTOMATICALLY fed through a merge program into html code for the website?
Be mindful of proper spelling and capitalization. Anything you put in the fields, including a legal name or a random note, will wind up on a public-facing website, exactly as entered, so please be careful about capitalization, etc., and don't add any notes to the group admin. If you have any private messages or would like to make corrections, you can email zoeyorkwrites@gmail.com.
Author Name
Book Title (include series in brackets if desired)
Mini Blurb (KEEP IT SHORT! 3 sentences or less; if you put in more text than that, it WILL be unilaterally trimmed by Zoe) *
Amazon link
Short links are fine, but we recommend NO affiliate links because it's against Zon's TOS, and the volume of clicks will grab their attention; also, depending on how many free downloads you get, it can void your paid affiliate earnings, because Amazon has a max % in the affiliate TOS rules [it pays to read the rules!]

IF YOU USE A Universal Book Link or a REDIRECT LINK, it MUST go DIRECTLY to Amazon's sale's page. I recommend Booklinker or Books2Read (with the Amazon extension on it! Only use B2R if you know what this means) for a free option. If you have a stack of SmartURL links, be advised...those have likely started to go stale as that business winds down. I recommend CHECKING your older links.

Categories!  PICK ONE! *
Due to the number of books listed, most sub-genres are grouped fully together, regardless of heat or violence levels. Use keywords and your microblurb to denote niche in these genres.

The contemporary romance category, however, is divided into multiple sub-genres, because otherwise it is overwhelming for readers to scroll through. There are five categories, divided by heat. Regardless of how you talk about your books in marketing language, for our purposes, "sweet" is a heat level distinction. Steamy books have open door sex *of any heat level* in them, and sweet books do not. For some authors, Women's Fiction and Chick Lit may be a better fit than either Steamy or Sweet Contemporary; this is a judgement call on your part. Readers are good are parsing which books are for them!

NEW ADULT / ROM COM observes the BookBub definition of New Adult as a category, which is that fresh narrative voice (usually 1st person, but not necessarily), often rom com, often steamy. Age of protagonists doesn't matter as much as author voice, you know it when you see it, etc. [Note from Zoe: I put my Ainsley Booth books in Steamy Contemp sometimes and NA/RC sometimes ... there's no right or wrong here!]

SWEET rom coms can still go in Contemporary Romance (sweet), and put rom com in the keywords to differentiate.

Finally, yes Women's Fiction is spelled wrong, the apostrophe messes up my html code. It will be spelled properly on the reader facing page. ~ Zoe

SECONDARY Categories, select if applicable!
These categories are optional, and designed to help readers have a shortcut to the books they are specifically looking for *by marginalized authors* and with protagonists who share their identities. Please only select these categories if you want your book to ALSO be listed in a second place under these headings, in addition to the genre lists above. And if you have a suggestion for alternate category titles, Zoe is all ears! You can DM her on FB or email her at zoeyorkwrites@gmail.com.
Keywords you would like listed under the blurb IF your book has a major element readers might be looking for inside the above listings (Black romance, hockey romance, mafia romance, WLW, m/m, sweet rom com, age gap romance, etc.) ... this will be listed exactly as you type it out here. Use this space to highlight your core story, niche, or sub-sub-genre!

These are not clickable, it's just an "at a glance" way to provide more information about your listing
ONE MORE THING! On the next page, after you hit submit, you'll see a link like this. "Edit Your Response". CLICK ON IT, AND BOOKMARK THAT! It will allow you to come back and see what you submitted, update any links, or the blurb, etc.
A copy of your responses will be emailed to the address you provided.
