KISD ESSER III Stakeholder Input Survey

In the summer of 2021, KISD was awarded federal ARP ESSER III funds to assist with COVID recovery. The district developed a Use of Funds Plan and a Safe Return to In-Person Instruction Plan based on stakeholder input and will review and update these plans every 6 months. The current plans can be viewed at https://www.kaufmanisd.net/quicklinks/esser-plans. This survey will remain open for stakeholder input throughout the grant period. Interested stakeholders may submit one survey every six months.

Allowable uses for ESSER III funds are listed below. Please check any category you believe should be a high priority. Note: By federal rule, at least 20% of ESSER III funds must be used to address learning loss.

Addressing learning loss (20% requirement) - Expenditures may include accelerated instruction and intervention, summer school, after-school programs, tutors/tutorials, professional development, staffing

Supporting Career and Technical Education

Addressing unique needs of low-income students, children with disabilities, English learners, and minorities

Purchase and support of educational technology (hardware, software, internet)

Mental health services and support

School facility repairs and improvements to support student health needs, including HVAC repair, replacement, and upgrade projects to improve indoor air quality

Other activities necessary to maintain the operation of schools, including continuing to employ existing staff despite any loss in other funding sources
