Rehearsals and ShowsRehearsals are every Tuesday from 5pm-8pm. Shows are May 3-4 and May 10-11. If you cannot commit to that schedule, you should not audition for this show.
Multiple Casts
If we have enough students, we may create a second cast of homeschool families with a morning or early afternoon rehearsal option. This would give more students the opportunity to participate in main roles. We can only open a second cast option if we have enough students so if you are a homeschool family with a strong preference for the morning or early afternoon rehearsal time, start recruiting friends and family so that we can launch the second cast. Both casts will perform at the Younts Center on May 3, 4, 10, or 11 but at different times/dates.
Casting Information
We are looking for "triple threat" performers. We also need a STRONG ensemble to carry the bulk of this show and story-telling. Every role is important to the production!!! Find more about the cast here:
Before You Audition
Payment for the program is due on the first of every month (Jan - May). Payment for January must be made before you can participate in the first rehearsal or the audition.
First Rehearsal and Auditions
The first rehearsal is Tuesday, January 9, from 5pm-8pm. We will provide audition training in this session. The audition date is Saturday, January 13, starting at 9am with call backs in the afternoon/evening.
- Students must be 18 years or younger to audition and be able to read a script without assistance.
- Students will need to prepare 30-60 seconds of a song. They may bring sheet music for a pianist to accompany or a track on their phone/device to play through our bluetooth speaker.
- Students will also need to prepare a 30-60 second monologue (memorized speech) from a play, musical, or movie.
- A dance routine will also be taught that groups will perform together. Wear comfortable clothes that you can move in.
Auditions will take place in groups of 10-15 at a time. Select the time slots on this form that work best for you. They will fill up on a first come, first serve basis. Once your group has auditioned and danced, you are free to go. We will continue until all students have auditioned.
Callbacks
Callbacks will be held the same day as the audition so be sure you are available all day long. We will have details on call backs for you at the audition. If you are not called back it does NOT mean you are not cast. All students in our theater program will perform in the show. Cast list will be finalized by Tuesday, January 23.
Costumes
Every actor will need to purchase their own costumes for the show. Details on that at the first parent meeting.
