Dear St. Peter Parent,

As we all know, our school has changed and adapted in many ways this year. Our Room Parent Committee has undergone a few changes in the last few years!

In recent years we have received feedback from our room parents regarding the difficulty collecting and managing class funds throughout the year. COLLECTING GENERAL CLASS FUNDS is no longer a room parent duty. Instead, room parents serve as a support system to the teachers, and they coordinate the efforts of the other classroom volunteers using online sign up forms. The room parents also help organize class responsibilities for various Parents' Club events such as Roadrunner Fun Run, Party at the Pavilion, etc... There is a possibility collection of funds will be necessary for our fair (performance props if applicable & auction craft) but that decision will be made at a later date and would be a nominal amount. Creative ways are used to facilitate teacher gifts and will not require group funds.

It is the responsibility of the room parents to encourage and welcome parental involvement throughout the year, and to model the mission, vision and values of St. Peter Catholic School.

In order to be considered as a room parent you must:

*Attend Safe Environment training as required by the Archdiocese of New Orleans.

*Be a paid and active member of the Parents' Club

* Attend all room parent meetings. (2-3 per year )

* Make efforts to attend all Parents' Club meetings throughout the year.

Room Parents will be drawn out of a hat by Principal Kraus. The first name pulled will be the lead room parent, and the second name will be the co-room parent. Parents with multiple children will have the opportunity to rank the order of consideration for each child's homeroom.

The deadline for submitting this form is Wednesday, August 24th.
