Placita Latina "Salsa on the Square" - Sept 16, 2023
This is the interest and signup form for the Salsa on the Square event for Placita Latina in Decatur, GA on September 16, 2023. This event serves as a kickoff to celebrating Latinx culture and the start of Hispanic Heritage Month. Some additional details:
  • There are 6 volunteer roles for the event on Saturday. Details are listed below.

  • Please note that there will be heavy traffic on Sept 16 so please aim to arrive early. Free parking is available at the Dekalb Courthouse parking deck on Trinity.

Volunteering Roles & Shift Times
Here are the roles & associated shift times available:

  1. Access Control (8am-12pm, 12pm-4pm, 4pm-8pm, 8pm-12am) Assisting event team with controlling vehicle access to designated parking areas and vendor load in zones.
  2. Event Set Up (10am - 12pm) Assisting festival organizers run extension chords to all vendor tents. 
  3. Vendor/Event Load-In & Setup (10:30am - 3:30pm)  Assisting vendors and the event team with getting their equipment, tents, and merchandise to their assigned location. Watching their materials if they need to leave to park their vehicle. Helping vendors with their tent setup.
  4. Vendor Check-In & Information (10:30am to 3:30pm): Welcoming vendors, checking them in, providing them with their assigned location, and any other necessary event details or materials.
  5. Hospitality Runner (4:00pm to 7:00pm, 7:00pm to 10:00pm): Serving as a point of contact between vendors and event organizers. Assisting vendors with any mid-event needs or questions (i.e. water, bio breaks, etc.)
  6. Vendor/Event Breakdown & Load-Out (10:30pm to 12am): Assisting vendors in breaking down their booths and loading out to their vehicle.
