Please nominate yourself for one of these positions in the leadership of the SLWIS. Nominations accepted until November 8, 2020.

Job descriptions:
Chair (one year each as incoming, chair, and past chair): The Incoming Chair assists and advises the Chair in their duties and performs other duties as assigned by the Chair. In the temporary absence of the Chair, the Incoming Chair presides at Steering Committee meetings. The Chair has overall responsibility for the direction and functioning of SLWIS and serves as the primary liaison with TESOL and other Communities of Practice. The Past Chair assists and advises the Chair in their duties. The Past Chair seeks nominations for, runs, and reports the results of the annual SLWIS elections. If the Chair is unable to serve the remainder of their term, the Past Chair assumes the duties of the Chair.

Secretary (two-year term): prepares and distributes minutes of all meetings of the IS and the Steering Committee or delegates the task to another committee member

Members-at large (3 positions open): serve three-year terms, and elections are staggered to ensure continuity. Members-at-large provide input on the activities and direction of SLWIS, take initiative in creating new activities, and conduct other duties at the request of the Chair.
   
**All terms run from the Annual Open Meeting at one convention to the Annual Open Meeting at the convention in the year the term expires.**

All office holders must be members of TESOL International during their term of office. You can run for an office without being a member as long as you commit to becoming a member if elected.
