By enrolling my child at Lake Michigan Academy (LMA), I understand and agree that my child has no expectation of privacy, that searches may be performed at the sole discretion of LMA. The Grand Rapids Police Department will assist in all cases of suspected illegal material.

I hereby agree to searches on my child’s purse, backpack, personal belongings, outerwear, or vehicle located on the premises.

I further agree that if my child brings a mobile phone to school, it must be used in accordance with school policies and may be confiscated and all text messages may be read by a faculty or staff member.

I hereby waive any claim to being present during such a search and seizure and agree to be noticed as soon as reasonably can be done in the event my child is the subject of any such search and/or seizure.

I understand that the safety of the students at LMA is of paramount concern and that any actions taken are taken to promote the safe, healthy, and secure learning environment of LMA.
