2023 Michigan AFS-TWS Annual Conference Registration
The 2023 Joint Michigan Fish & Wildlife Conference will take place on Thu-Fri, March 23-24, 2023 at Shanty Creek Resort in Bellaire, MI. Optional continuing education opportunities are also being provided at Shanty Creek on Wed, Mar 22 (additional fees may apply). 

The conference will include multiple plenaries with distinguished speakers, student and professional research presentations, a networking event with live auction, annual business meetings of Michigan AFS and TWS, and more.

Continuing education courses (optional)
Select the continuing education course you plan to attend. Workshops are held concurrently on Wed, March 22nd from 1-4 pm (i.e., you will only be able to attend one workshop). Workshops will be limited to 20-30 participants, depending on the course.

Field Safety PlanningThrough this course you will learn the basics of preparing for and remaining safe during fieldwork. This will include the creation of a field safety plan, what to bring with you into the field, boat and snowmobile safety, considerations for DEI, and more! Mussel Identification Test - Beginning in 2024, the MDNR Fisheries Division will only issue Scientific Collectors Permits to contactors who are certified in Michigan Freshwater Mussel Identification. This is a test opportunity to fulfill this new permitting requirement; no training will be provided.
