From the birthplace of cheddar
Being one of the founding members of the organic dairy movement in the United Kingdom, we’ve had plenty of time to develop our regenerative farming practices. Our free range herds with their grass fed diets make a major contribution to the flavor of our bold, full-bodied, and award winning cheddar cheese. These
are produced by Wyke Farms, one of the country’s longest established, family-run cheesemakers based in the heart of the Somerset countryside, only some 20 miles away from the village of Cheddar itself! More at: https://britishorganicdairyco.com/
100% Organic & Non-GMO Project Verified
The British Organic Dairy Co.’s range consists of a rich yet smooth & buttery Mature Cheddar; a bold and distinctive 12 month-aged Extra Mature Cheddar and a quintessential, complex and robust Vintage Cheddar matured for over 18 months. All are made from Omsco farmers’ milk produced by a farming system that is accredited by the USDA and UK Soil Association to be free from the use of pesticides, herbicides, artificial fertilisers, GMOs and antibiotics.
Grass Fed
Our farmers are committed to enabling their cows to graze on lush green pastures. Our cows are more than just free range, they graze organic, herbicide and pesticide free pastures to ensure that their grass based diet is contamination free – as is the fresh creamy milk they produce.
Regenerative Farming
In its very nature, organic farming is a regenerative food system. Our farmers work hard to maintain the health and fertility of their soils, which in turn produce nutritious grass pastures. Organic farming is the only food production system governed by UK and international law – independently verified each year by the Soil Association.
