Project H&B Befriending Program Volunteer Signup Form (PLS TAKE NOTE OF FIRST PARAGRAPH)
Hey there! Sign-ups have closed as we reached the maximum volunteers limit for this program. However, you may still put down your contacts below if you wish to be part of the reserve team that will be mobilised as and when other volunteers are unavailable ๐Ÿ˜„

Hi there! Thank you for your interest in serving with Project Honey and Bread. We are a CE01 partnering with Care Corner Toa Payoh, a senior activity center that works with vulnerable elderly.

This is a signup form for our befriending program. Currently, we have not resumed our previous programs such as digital clinic sessions.

In the befriending program, a small group of regular volunteers is committed to long term engagement with a senior, whether through digital or face-to-face interactions. We hope that befriending will both enrich the lives of the elderly and provide meaningful learning experiences for volunteers.

2 mass check-in sessions (T3W6 and T3W10; date tbc)
Weekly befriending sessions of approx. 30 minutes, minimum attendance 6/8 sessions*

*the frequency and duration of befriending sessions are dependent on the needs of individual elderly

๐–๐ž๐ž๐ค๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐ญ๐ข๐ฆ๐ข๐ง๐ :
Timing is flexible; volunteers will schedule each week's call directly with the senior.

๐•๐ž๐ง๐ฎ๐ž:
Briefing and check-in sessions will be conducted on Zoom.
Befriending sessions will be held through one of four methods of engagement:
1) face-to-face: all volunteers go down to the senior's home for the session
2) fully online: the senior uses their own tablet to join a Zoom call from home. All volunteers call from home.
3) hybrid: 1 volunteer goes down to accompany the senior, either in the senior's home or in the Care Corner briefing room. The volunteer assists the senior in using Zoom to call all other volunteers.
4) phone call: one volunteer calls the elderly for a wellbeing check-in

Every senior has different needs -- for example, some seniors may have a tablet and home Wi-Fi but be unable to operate Zoom independently, while some seniors may not even have a personal device. Hence, each volunteer group will need to decide on suitable methods of engagement.

A general guideline is 2 face-to-face/hybrid sessions a month, with a check-in through phone call in the intervening weeks. A minimum of one face-to-face session a month is expected. Of course, volunteers may choose to conduct face-to-face sessions weekly, but doing so may be taxing, and most seniors do not require a face-to-face check-in every week.
