Summer 2022 ABF Electives Registration Form
On July 3, we will begin our summer ABF (Adult Bible Fellowship) electives (running 2 months, from July 3 through Aug 28). There are 11 classes (1 is men only, 2 are women only, and 1 is Spanish-speaking). Registration for classes begins June 19 and runs through June 30.

When making your class selection in the next section, you will see only the names of the classes and teachers. In order to view the class descriptions also, please read over the full list with class descriptions below, prior to moving on to the personal registration section.

ELECTIVE CLASS OPTIONS (JULY 3 TO AUG 28):
AMAZINGLY MISUNDERSTOOD GRACE (MARK NORTHCUTT, COED):
This study of the amazing nature of the gospel. The first half focuses on the basic doctrines of the gospel, emphasizing unique aspects of God's amazing love for sinners/rebels, especially God's power to regenerate our hearts, which leads to our sanctification. The second half describes the amazing barriers to the gospel (based upon the parable of the sower), and then the amazing benefits of the gospel--the gospel-oriented gifts of faith, hope, and love.

EXPOSITION OF HAGGAI (PHILLIP MARSHALL, COED)
In this class we will study the minor prophet Haggai: the context of his prophetic ministry, his prophetic message, the relationship between Haggai's teaching and the rest of the Bible, and his significance for us today.

BIBLICAL PRINCIPLES FOR PARENTING (JASON GINGRICH, COED):
This class will cover biblically-based principles and guidelines for Christian parenting using the curriculum "Parenting for Life."

STUDIES IN GENESIS AND PSALMS (JOSH PHILPOT, COED):
This is an ongoing class led by Pastor Josh Philpot, which alternates between expositions of Genesis and select Psalms.

CHURCH HISTORY CLASS (KELLY COOK, COED)
Were there any Christians between Jesus and your grandma? Yes! In this class we will look at the history of the church (following the time of Jesus and the apostles) and what we can learn as we consider how the church thought about Scripture, theology, and the world.

A BIBLICAL STUDY OF ANGELS (DEAN WADDLE, COED):
This study will explore biblical teachings on angels: what they are, what they do, and how we should think about them.

ENDURING SUFFERING: LESSONS FROM 1 PETER (RUSS MASSEY, COED):
In this life, all Christian face some level of suffering. In this class we will explore how the teachings of 1 Peter can encourage believers to trust the Lord and persevere in the midst of difficult circumstances.

BIBLICAL WOMANHOOD: LESSONS FROM TITUS 2 (KIMBERLY ROBINSON, WOMEN-ONLY)
In this study in Titus 2 we will learn how, by God's grace, we can develop the life and character that God wants Christian women to have.

HOW TO SPEAK THE TRUTH IN LOVE (CHERYL MARSHALL, WOMEN-ONLY):
In this study we will use the book "When Words Matter Most" (by Marshall/Newheiser) to learn and discuss how to speak the truth with love and grace to those you love according to their need.

AN INDUCTIVE STUDY OF THE BOOK OF HEBREWS (RICK KRESS, MEN ONLY):
A study of the Book of Hebrews incorporating weekly class discussions based on the personal reading and study of the assigned sections. In this class you will not only learn more about the Book of Hebrews, but also sharpen your Bible study skills of observation, interpretation, and application.
