2024 Manitoba Tallgrass Prairie & Aspen Parkland TREX- Application 
Thank you for your interest in the 2024 Manitoba Tallgrass Prairie & Aspen Parkland TREX, being held from May 6-10, 2024 across the Rural Municipality of Stuartburn in Manitoba. The Canadian Prairies Prescribed Fire Exchange (CPPFE) is partnering with the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) to host this event. 

This intensive 5-day event will provide mentored learning opportunities and hands on experiences from a diverse multi-partner group of prescribed fire practitioners. It is an opportunity to learn, grow and build strong partnerships. 

Event will be capped at 30 participants, with a waiting list for additional participants.

SUPERVISOR INFORMATION
Though not required, we strongly suggest receiving your supervisor's approval prior to participation.

If you are a paid employee, home units will be responsible for paying your wages while participating at this training.  Participants and/or employers are responsible for all logistical and administrative arrangements regarding paid or vacation time, and any overtime accrued during TREX. It is likely we will be working over 8 hour days each day.

QUALIFICATIONS
This TREX provides training opportunities for participants with no prior prescribed fire experience through to Incident Commander.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT AND EQUIPMENT CONTRIBUTION.
During all live-fire drills, participants are required to wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE). This equipment includes fireline-approved boots (all leather work boots, non-slip soles and no steel toe), Nomex clothing (or equivalent Fire Resistant clothes), all leather gloves, eye protection, and a hard hat with ear protection. Participants that do not own PPE will be able to borrow it free of charge, except for boots. Participants must bring their own boots.
