Storytelling has a long, rich teaching and educational history.  Here is a link to a National Geographic article that details oral storytelling history and traditions.  Please read prior to completing your application.

Each year, the Literacy Association of Tennessee awards Support Storytelling Grants. There is $1,500 available for these grants. Grants can be given to purchase books for read-alouds, to purchase writing materials for a publishing station, props to use for Readers Theater, or any other activity or project that promotes oral storytelling in some form.

Applications should total from $200-$350.  The deadline for submissions is a rolling deadline.  Applications are accepted until all the grant money is awarded.  If awarded, a final report and pictures of project should be sent to glc@literacyassociationtennessee.com.
