What is a Volunteer Agreement?

A Volunteer Agreement is a contract used by an organization to utilize volunteers for their service with clear expectations. A volunteer agrees to provide their time and/or services without remuneration or payment.  Agreements must be completed and signed in sufficient time prior to the event. Agreements may be updated yearly.

What are the expectations for volunteers?

All volunteers are expected to cooperate with the policies and procedures of Laughing Horses Ranch LLC. Volunteers will work closely with the Volunteer Coordinator regarding scheduling and duties. Volunteers are expected to only undertake duties assigned to them under the responsibility of the Coordinator. Prior to events, volunteers must participate in a background check and agree to responsibilities laid out in this agreement and assigned by the Volunteer Coordinator. Background checks may be requested for updates every 3 years. Meetings and relevant training may be required for certain events and their volunteers. All volunteers are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner that supports the objectives of Laughing Horses Ranch LLC. & Ministries.

Volunteer duties may include but are not limited to:

- Check in with Volunteer Coordinator upon arrival 

- Notify the Volunteer Coordinator if additional volunteers are needed in your area

- Supervise children/campers/families to maintain a safe, kind, and encouraging environment for all participants

- Informing Volunteer Coordinator, or other staff member, immediately if participants/campers are violating Laughing Horses Ranch LLC. Code of Conduct. Campers may be directed to the Coordinator or another staff member.

- Informing Volunteer Coordinator, or other staff member, immediately if participants/campers are injured.

- Assist with set up & take down of the event

- Support & Facilitate discussions

- Support & Assist Youth Events

- Run stations/games with families/campers/participants

- Work in the kitchen/grill to prepare meals/snacks for campers, staff, and other volunteers 

- Attend assigned meetings

- Only undertake duties you are authorized to perform and 

- Use equipment given for your role in a safe manner and for its intended purpose and return equipment when finished with your role

We encourage all volunteers to inform the Volunteer Coordinator if you wish to change the nature of your role, hours, etc. so we may support you. Please be open and honest in your dealings and let us know if we may improve our programs to better serve others and lead through Christ.
