NOMMA 2020-2021 Second Semester Learning Preference Commitment Form
For the Second Semester, which begins on January 5th, 2021, NOMMA will offer two instructional delivery options. Be assured that NOMMA is prepared for both hybrid and full virtual instruction, depending on the Louisiana Department of Education and local health directives. Please read this document carefully, and then submit the form below for each cadet in your family who attends NOMMA.

Option 1 - At-Home Virtual Learning. Cadets will be enrolled in the Edgenuity Online Curriculum platform. Except for JROTC and select courses with industry-based credentials, cadets will not be enrolled in NOMMA teachers' classes.  Tutoring and live sessions may not be available for all courses. Cadets must commit to this learning preference for the remainder of the school year.

Option 2 -  NOMMA's Hybrid Learning Plan.  Cadets will report to campus on a designated day(s) each week. The specific Hybrid Learning Protocol (Bravo, Bravo 2.0, or Charlie) has not been determined. The determination will be based on state health directives.

Parents or guardians must commit their child to At-Home Virtual Learning or Hybrid Learning by completing this Learning Preference Commitment Form.  Please submit your completed form no later than 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 1st, 2020.  Receiving this information in a timely manner will help NOMMA plan cadet schedules, staffing, and preventative health and safety measures.

This is a commitment for the remainder of the school year to minimize scheduling and staffing complexities. Families may not change their commitment from At-Home Virtual Learning to Hybrid Learning, or vice versa.  We understand, however, that circumstances can change for families, and adjustments will be examined on a case-by-case basis.

Regardless of which learning option you choose for your child, the expectations for coursework completion, attendance, and grading will be the same for both in-person and at-home virtual learning. NOMMA believes this is the fairest and most equitable solution for all of our cadets. All courses, regardless of the learning option chosen, will count towards the cadet's GPA and class ranking.

In addition to committing to At-Home Virtual or Hybrid Learning, NOMMA must collect pertinent information from Jefferson and Plaquemines Parish households that plan to utilize yellow school bus transportation.

If you commit to At-Home Virtual Learning, NOMMA staff will make adjustments to course schedules and enroll cadets in the Edgenuity Online Curriculum.  Parents, guardians, and/or cadets may be contacted to discuss scheduling options based on a cadet’s current course selections. Parents and cadets should then expect emails regarding follow-on steps by December 18th, 2020.

Thank you,

NOMMA Admin
