Pinewood Derby Car Show and Race
This event is open to the public. All are welcome to attend, even if you are just observing. You only pay a fee if you are racing.

Car Show and Race Saturday March 11, 2023
9:00 AM to 3:00 PM Awards at 3:00 PM
Coastal Farm and Ranch Salem, Oregon

  • Registration Booths Open at 9am (There will be a Pre-registration, Registration and a BSA Scouts New Registration booth)

  • Hotdog food booth opens at 10am

  • Car Cutting station will be available.

  • Car decorating station will be available.

  • Car show will open as cars are checked in and on display before the race. Awards for car show awards will be presented after the race.

  • Pinewood Derby Race will be held at the end of the event. Awards for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place per registration group and 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall.

The pinewood derby is the wood car racing event of Scouts BSA. With the help of adults, Scouts build their own unpowered, unmanned miniature cars from wood, usually from kits containing a block of pine wood, plastic wheels, and metal axles.    

Come join us at our first annual Salem Pinewood Derby Race and Car show. Pinewood Derby is open to people ages 5 to 100+ years of age.

100% of the proceeds go directly to the scouts in Pack 7009.
