Intro - about DeafATW

Access to Work is a fantastic resource that has improved the lives of many people.  However, there is not enough clear information published to help people to understand the scheme.

 I run DeafATW on a voluntary basis to provide deaf people, interpreters, and others, with clear, accessible information about ATW, and to help ATW to know when customers experience problems with the service.

I do this in five ways:

1)    I run the DeafATW website which provides information about ATW in plain English and BSL;

2)    I attend the Cross-Sector Access to Work Forum (for England);

3)    I answer direct questions and help solve issues with ATW for deaf people and interpreters;

4)    I have good relationships with ATW, and other organisations, which means that I can let ATW know about problems they may not be aware of, and share feedback on customers’ experience, and;

5)    I run webinars and workshops on ATW.

However, because I run DeafATW on a voluntary basis and have limited time to do this, I cannot do everything that I would like to do. I need to focus on what is most useful to people, and to make keeping the website up to date as simple as possible.

Your answers to this short survey will help me do that.

Who should answer this survey?

This survey is for you if you:

  • Use, or have used, ATW

OR

  • Are likely to use ATW in the future

OR

  • Are a support worker working with people that use ATW (e.g., an interpreter)

OR

  • Support people to apply for ATW, etc. (e.g., an advocate).

AND

  • Have visited the DeafATW website or had other support from DeafATW.

Please answer this survey before Tuesday 30th April 2024.

GDPR - Are my answers confidential (private)?

Yes. DeafATW will be responsible for keeping your information safe. Your answers will be stored securely and anonymously until 31/6/2025.  Leaving your name and email address is optional.  You can contact me to ask for your data to be removed at any time.

At the end of this survey, you will be asked if you are happy for me to contact you to ask more about your answers, and also if you agree that DeafATW can quote from your answers (use your words), or not.

When you see a question with a star like this *, it means you have to answer the question. If there is no star * you do not have to answer.

If you have any questions about this survey please email me at darren@deafatw.com.

I prefer to answer in BSL

The introduction and questions are in both English and BSL.

If you’d prefer to answer this survey in BSL there are two ways that you can do this:

1)    If you have an interpreter or translator who could complete this form with you, please ask them.

2)    If you don’t have an interpreter who can do this with you, then contact me (darren@deafatw.com), and we can arrange a video call. You can sign your answers in BSL, and I will fill in the survey with you.
