A-VOYCE is the Asian Community Development Corporation's youth program for high school students in the Greater Boston area. A-VOYCE stands for Asian Voices of Organized Youth for Community Empowerment.

A-VOYCE equips youth to be community advocates who design spaces for collective dreams, joy, & power. We seek to guide youth from an inward exploration of personal identity into an outward transformation of community power.

You will be able to meet and network with community members and be part of a tight-knit youth group! It's a great opportunity to make new friends and learn about leaders and change makers in your community.  

>> Gain Leadership Skills:
Leadership looks different in everyone. At A-VOYCE, we believe that everyone is a leader. These workshops provide the opportunity and support to grow your leadership skills and understand your style. Some skills include: public speaking, collaboration, project management, critical thinking, and more!

>> Learn about your history and identity:
By diving into Asian & Asian American history and social justice topics, you will develop a deeper connection to yourself, your community, and the world around you.

>> Take Action and create a collaborative project! 
At A-VOYCE, you will be able to work with our youth staff to bring your ideas and vision to life. Using a design thinking framework and a foundation of community planning, you'll get a chance to both design and execute your own community project. See our website for what past youth have made: https://asiancdc.org/avoyce 

What do we offer?

  • SCHOOL YEAR CYCLE : 8 Month Cycle (October - May) - youth meet once a week for 2 hours of programming

  • SUMMER LEADERSHIP ACADEMY: 6 Week Cycle (July and August) - youth meet four times per week for 4 hours per day. NOTE: This program is on hiatus for the summer of 2024, so it is currently not an option on the interest form! If you are interested in joining summer of 2025, please note that in the last question on the form!

  • VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: Opportunities such as SaturPLAY youth engagement programming, Films at The Gate, etc.

Where are we located?

  • Boston (Chinatown) - Our Boston site serves youth from Boston, Quincy, Braintree, Allston-Brighton, etc. We host both a School Year Cycle (October-May) and Summer Program (July-August) here! 
  • Malden - Our Malden site serves youth from Malden, Everett, Medford, etc. We host a School Year Cycle (October-May) here!
