In order to be eligible for the program the placement must:
- at least 200 hours in length
- offer the student a meaningful work experience related to any aspect of the construction industry (engineers, technologists, accounting and finance, human resources, IT, logistics, procurement, safety, marketing, etc.)
- pay at least minimum wage
The CNTP cannot support apprenticeship positions.
Students must be hired as employees, and the placement must adhere to Alberta Labor Standards.
Students must be:
- residents of Alberta
- able to legally work in Canada
- enrolled in an Alberta, publicly funded post-secondary institution or graduated within the last 6 months
In order to receive the 50% wage subsidy (up to a maximum of $5,000 per student) your company will need to submit a reimbursement form with your feedback on the quality of the placement and proof of wages paid (i.e. statements or earnings). The reimbursement will take place after the completion of the placement.
