UMIEEE is the University of Manitoba Student Branch of IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers). We operate a student lounge and student laboratory space, as well as host multiple technical workshops and professional networking events throughout the year. By joining us, you can make friends, learn new things, and have a place to study and work on both homework and personal projects. We're always open to new members.

Please note that you MUST be an active IEEE student member to be a member of this lounge. Please ensure your IEEE student membership is associated with the University of Manitoba. Additionally, if you are an undergraduate engineering student, please let us know your EGM (Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba) number and University of Manitoba student number so we can get more money from UMES (University of Manitoba Engineering Society)!

To join the UMIEEE Student Branch, you must do the following:

(1) Join IEEE as a student member. You can do this at https://www.ieee.org/membership_services/membership/join/index.html. When you're registering, don't forget to associate your IEEE student membership with the University of Manitoba. The cost to join is $33.60 USD.

(2) OPTIONAL: Join EGM (Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba, formerly known as APEGM) as a student member. Your first year of membership is free, and your annual renewal after that is only $20. If you are a member of EGM, we need your EGM number and U of M student number to give to UMES so we get money from them.

(3) Fill out THIS membership form.

After that, you're in!
