The 2022 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Week will start on Saturday, Jan. 15, 2022 and end on Friday, Jan. 21, 2022. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the Celebration.

Departments, units, offices, organizations and individuals breathe life into the celebration by organizing events throughout the week to educate, engage and energize. We encourage you to submit an event!

An important part of the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration are events envisioned by Oregon State community members to collaboratively learn about, reflect on and carry on the legacy of Dr. King. Events in the past have included art shows, spoken word performances, interfaith celebrations, workshops, dialogues, lectures, panels, marches and calls to action—just to name a few.

The Celebration has three important objectives, to provide the Oregon State community the opportunity to:

1. Learn about and reflect on the life and legacy of Dr. King and collaboratively envision ways to carry his work forward;
2. Participate in an impactful, inclusive and engaging celebration of the life and legacy of Dr. King; and
3. Collaboratively learn about, reflect on and carry on the legacy of Dr. King in a way that is relevant to today’s generations.

Event submissions will be accepted until January 7, 2022. All in-person events must observe local health and OSU guidelines related to COVID-19.
