The video registration program allows residents and business
owners to voluntarily register the locations of their video surveillance
systems with White Oak PD. This does not give White Oak PD direct access to
your camera. It only lets White Oak PD know where the cameras are located and
who to contact in the event a crime happens in the vicinity of your video
surveillance system.
Please review the policy and terms of usage and provide your information.
Policy: Registration is voluntary and there is no cost
associated with registration. Registering your information DOES NOT
provide the White Oak Police direct access to your camera. You may delete your
registration at any time. An individual’s personal information will be kept
confidential by White Oak PD unless subject to disclosure by court order. Your
information will only be accessed by law enforcement personnel who are
investigating a crime in the vicinity of your camera. You will only be
contacted by White Oak PD in the future if there is a criminal incident in the
vicinity of your security camera. Police personnel may, if necessary, request a
copy of any video captured on your camera, which may assist in the
investigation of a crime.
Terms of usage: The goal of the program is to deter crime and
promote public safety through collaboration between White Oak PD and the
community we serve. Accordingly, all registrants agree to the following terms
and conditions: 1) In the event of a crime in the vicinity of your surveillance
system, we may contact you directly using the information provided here to
request you check your recordings for any pertinent evidence that may have been
captured. Any footage found to contain or relate to criminal activity may be
requested and collected by White Oak PD for the use as evidence during any
stage of a criminal proceeding. 2) Under no circumstance shall registrants
construe that they are acting as an agent and/or employee of the City of White
Oak, Texas and/or White Oak Police Department.
