Dear future ASPIRE families,
The After School Program for Instruction, Recreation and Enrichment (aka ASPIRE) is BACK!!!!!
ASPIRE is an afterschool enrichment program that offers homework support, academic enrichment classes that are fun and meant to improve academics in math and reading. In addition, we offer organized recreation, art, sports, technology, science, and so much more.
ASPIRE is NOT a child care program nor is it a "drop-in center". At ASPIRE, we offer academic support and academic enrichment with the goal of increasing student achievement.
If you are interested in your child participating in the program, there a few things you need to know...
1. We are not a baby sitting or "drop in" afterschool program. Selected students are expected to participate daily.
2. ASPIRE is free. There is no cost associated with participation.
3. Student participants are not permitted to ride the regular dismissal buses when ASPIRE is in session. If a student will not attending the program for any reason, they must be picked up from school at dismissal. No exceptions.
4. Student safety is very important to us. Parent notes requesting a student be put on the bus or changes in bus transportation are not permitted. Our Transportation Department and ASPIRE staff want to ensure that every student is accounted for daily between school dismissal and ASPIRE. The only way to do this is when students report to ASPIRE as required. Students that leave school and take the bus home WILL BE dismissed from the program.

Please note, space is limited. This year, we will accept 150 Miller students into the program. Our goal is to have approximately 75 4th and 75 5th graders. All others will be placed on a waiting list and notified when or if a spot becomes available. Participants will be notified of acceptance by email on or around September 20, 2023.
