Gnome Games Employment Phone Screening Record
Phone Screening Guide

This guide will explain the phone screening phase of the Gnome Games hiring process. It is a guide for leaders to pre-screen applicants to save time in the actual hiring interview process. Leaders will be assessing applicants on three important criteria to better determine if they are a potential Gnome Games fit. PLEASE SCHEDULE THE PHONE INTERVIEW WITH THE CANDIDATE!

Consistency: Consistency with previous answers and resumes matters. If a candidate’s resume states that they have experience in Photoshop and it turns out they don’t, it’s a red flag.

Effective communication: Are the candidate’s answers on point? Do they appear to be attentive listeners? A good communicator also provides examples to help you understand their point of view.
Attitude: The candidate is down-to-earth and positive during the interview. They talk about their achievements with pride and not arrogance.

To ensure that we only interview qualified applicants, leaders will choose from the following list of questions.  Leaders will not only listen for red flags but will listen for potential shining stars! Leaders should go into every phone screening conversation with a positive and respectful attitude. Leaders need to be prepared mentally and physically located in a private, quiet location so they can give all applicants their entire attention. ALWAYS PRESCHEDULE THE INTERVIEW!

Remember to print the candidates application /resume so you have it to refer to in the phone interview.  You can use it to make notes on as well!
