What is Kate Olivia Films?
  • Kate Olivia Films is a wedding filmmaking company located in SWFL. We film 25 weddings per calendar year and travel within the state of Florida. Our values are to serve each client with hospitality, honesty, creativity, diligence, and hard work all for the glory of God. 
  • We call ourselves filmmakers, not videographers. Videographers show up and press record, while filmmakers tell a story. 
  • We pride ourselves in the way we do not take the lazy route for tasks on wedding days. Each client deserves 100% of our energy and impulsive creativity. 
  • All editing is done in house by Kate. 
  • We are looking for 2 new additions to our team. So when one person is unavailable, the other can shoot that day. Come join the team! 
What is the job of a Second Shooter/Assistant for KOF?
  • Joining Kate for each of her weddings this upcoming wedding season Oct 2022-April 2023
  • Filming all the moments Kate captures from a different angle/perspective 
  • Spending 6 to 8 hours with Kate at each wedding. Kate usually sends you home after speeches are done and after you have eaten
  • Responsible for being on time and providing your own transportation for weddings in SWFL.
  • Putting lapel microphones on officiant/groom/etc
  • Setting up and tearing down tripods and light stands 
  • Always moving quickly...there is no time on wedding days to twiddle our thumbs! ;)
  • Being flexible with the flow of the timeline. Every wedding  gets off the timeline so being good under pressure is very important 
  • Representing the KOF brand in a positive light at all times 
Pay: 
  • $30 an hour for someone who would need to be trained from scratch/use my equipment. Training is unpaid but I will spend as much time as you need to feel comfortable and confident to second shoot a wedding. 
  • $40+ an hour for someone who is an experienced videographer/provides own Canon gear
  • Travel and lodging is all paid for by the client and you will be compensated for your extra time of traveling with me. Only women come with me to weddings outside of SWFL. (This season we are traveling to Key Largo, Orlando, Brooksville, Parrish, St. Pete, etc, but a majority of the weddings are in Naples/Sanibel/Fort Myers.)
Fun facts about the job:
  • All traveling is paid for, so who wouldn't want to travel for free? :)
  • This SWFL wedding industry is a tight group, we have lots of fun together and we will be working with the same vendors often
  • You will always get dinner at the venue
  • You would only work 2-4 days per MONTH and you will know those dates months in advance. 
  • Training with Kate before the season begins is a lot of fun. She has good snacks and cute stickers, haha!

  3. In-person interviews will be held after August 13th in Fort Myers
  4. You will hear back from Kate via email by the end of August if you are 1 of the 2 chosen for this position
