Welcome to the 2021-2022 Volunteer Recognitions!

To be considered for an award, nominees must be in good standing with council, a currently registered Girl Scout member, no known conflict resolution issues either verbally or in writing on file at the council or within your Service Unit or Troop, and no debt issue with product program or troop audit issues. No nominations of council staff will be accepted; the nomination process for is volunteers only.

All nominations will be approved by the the Volunteer Recognition's Committee which is made up of operational volunteers and governance volunteers from the Board of Directors. The committee will make final determination of recognitions.

When specifying endorsers, no family member may endorse a nominee. A volunteer's troop may also be considered as an endorser to a nomination.

New Mexico Trails’ formal adult awards are intended to recognize exemplary service that is above and beyond what is expected for the individual’s volunteer role. Formal awards should be used to honor specific service rather than longevity. Formal awards are intended to be only one part of a comprehensive recognition plan which should also include informal recognition of volunteers.

Appreciation Pin - recognizes a registered adult Girl Scout's exemplary service in support of delivering the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. This service, which has had MEASURABLE IMPACT on ONE GEOGRAPHICAL AREA of service, helps reach and SURPASS the mission-delivery goals of the area.

Circle of Achievement - recognizes outstanding individuals who provide a SHORT-TERM SERVICE worthy of recognition.

Circle of Excellence - recognizes outstanding individuals CONTINUING TO SERVE AT A CONSISTENT LEVEL. The candidate continues to provide this level of service to the same council jurisdiction.

Honor Pin - recognizes a registered adult Girl Scout's exemplary service in support of delivering the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, which has had MEASURABLE IMPACT on TWO OR MORE GEOGRAPHICAL AREAS of service, allowing the council to reach and SURPASS mission-delivery goals.

Star Trainer - recognizes outstanding individuals who provide training in a manner that exceeds the expectations of the position. The candidate must exhibit exceptional diligence in performing his/her training responsibilities. The training services rendered by the candidate is considered to exceed expectations of the position in the following areas: Initiative, Teamwork & Versatility, Enthusiasm & Creativity, Attitude & Leadership, Communication, and/or Dedication.

Teola Artman Award - recognizes an adult volunteer, active within his/her Service Unit who is "the glue that holds things together."

Thanks Badge I - honors a registered adult Girl Scout whose ONGOING commitment, leadership, and service have had an EXCEPTIONAL, MEASURABLE impact on meeting the mission-delivery goals and priorities of the ENTIRE COUNCIL or ENTIRE GIRL SCOUT MOVEMENT.

Thanks Badge II - honors a previous Thanks Badge award recipient who has CONTINUED to provide exemplary service IN A LEADERSHIP ROLE, resulting in a MEASURABLE impact that benefits the ENTIRE GIRL SCOUT MOVEMENT.

Trails of Leadership - recognizing an adult Girl Scout Troop Leader whose performance as a leader and whose interaction with the girls is so outstanding that it merits council-level recognition.

Volunteer of Excellence - recognizes those volunteers who have contributed outstanding service WHILE PARTNERING DIRECTLY WITH GIRLS in a pathway to implement the Girl Scout Leadership Experience through the use of the National Program Portfolio OR who have contributed outstanding service in support of the council's mission delivery to girl and adult members.
