Graduate College Day will take place on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, in conjunction with Rebel Ready Week. Please find the calendar of events below, and RSVP by Wednesday, Aug. 13.

11:00 AM - 12:15 PM PST: New Graduate Student Orientation Luncheon with Your Department Faculty - In-Person (Student Union Ballroom)
  • Join us for lunch on Graduate College Day as we warmly welcome you to the UNLV Graduate College. This event is designed to introduce you to key members of our academic community and provide you with valuable insights as you embark on this exciting journey of your graduate education.
12:30 PM - 01:20 PM PST: How to Finance Your Graduate Education - Hybrid (In-Person: Student Union Room 208; Virtual: Zoom)
  • This workshop discusses all financial options for funding your graduate degree. Specifically the workshop will focus on graduate assistantships, access funding, and what Graduate College scholarships/fellowships are available to you.
01:30 PM - 02:20 PM PST: How is Advising at the Grad Level? - Hybrid (In-Person: Student Union Room 208; Virtual: Zoom)
  • Graduate student advising will look different compared to your undergrad experience. This workshop will review faculty advising, what is a RPC coordinator, how to select your courses each semester, your path to graduation, and more!
02:30 PM - 03:20 PM PST: How to Get Involved as a Graduate Student - Hybrid (In-Person: Student Union Room 208; Virtual: Zoom)
  • This workshop will focus on the different ways to get involved as a graduate student, including information about The Grad Academy, Graduate Student Services, Student Groups, and upcoming events and programming at the Graduate College. 
03:30 PM - 04:45 PM PST: Welcome Mixer - In-Person (Student Union Ballroom)
  • Join the Graduate College and the Graduate & Professional Student Association (GPSA) for our welcome mixer. Students will have the opportunity to: hear from the vice provost for graduate education and dean of the Graduate College; participate in a Q&A panel with current graduate students; receive a T-shirt; learn about different resources and services available for graduate students; and mix and mingle with fellow students and faculty.
