Nakusp and Area Bike Society (NABS) in partnership with the Village of Nakusp are undertaking the first ever Active Transportation Network Plan (ATNP) to support the development of active transportation options that are safe, accessible, and convenient for all ages and abilities. The ATNP will support the implementation of the goals and objectives set out in the Official Community Plan (June 2022) and Canada's National Active Transportation Strategy. Funding for this ATNP has been made possible by the Infrastructure Canada Active Transportation Fund. 

Active transportation is human-powered transportation that connects your destinations. Active transportation also includes travelling with the help of a device that gives you a boost: i.e. e-bikes / mobility aids 

Stakeholder and public engagement is a very important component to developing the ATNP to ensure that the final recommendation are reflective of the needs and priorities of Nakusp and its surrounding areas residents.
