Talk & Workshop Proposals for KISS 2020
Share your sound design and music success story with the audience who can best appreciate it — your fellow Kyma practitioners!

Have you come up with a new collection of patches this year? Have you created some clever sound designs for a game? Compiled a set of tools or Capytalk functions? Created some unusual sound effects or music for a film or advertisement? Collaborated with a researcher from another discipline? Are you particularly proud of some sound or music you designed for a film, a game or a virtual environment? Share your stories, challenges, solutions, lessons learned, and future challenges yet to be solved!

Or perhaps you have some thought-provoking or inspiring ideas you'd like to share related to "The Sound of Science": Kyma, sound design, science, music, data, and potential opportunities for making our world a better place? Do you have an inspiring "Origin Story" (challenges overcome with the help of loyal friends) to share around the virtual campfire?

Do you have some hard-won knowledge that you'd like to share with fellow practitioners? Your talk could also take the form of a tutorial or workshop.

Please note, this form is for proposing standalone talks; if you are proposing a talk as an adjunct to your live performance proposal, please use the Live Performance proposal form for both the performance and the related talk. Thanks!

KISS 2020 is about human interaction so we ask that, should your proposal be accepted, you will attend the symposium to present your work. (If unforeseen and unavoidable circumstances prevent you from attending, your presentation will have to be dropped from the program). Because the proposals are carefully reviewed by a selection committee, we ask that if your proposal is accepted, that you not substitute a different topic without submitting the new proposal for another full review by the selection committee prior to the submission deadline. Although our budget sadly does not allow for remuneration of presenters, the organizers have generously offered to subsidize presenters, co-presenters and performers of accepted presentations at a reduced-rate conference fee (equal to the subsidized student rate).
How eagerly are you looking forward to KISS 2020 in Champaign-Urbana? *
Still looking for inspiration...
I already hear the sound of science as an earworm!
