"Fandom Voices" is a project that is part of the new Silmarillion Writers' Guild newsletter column "Cultus Dispatches," which offers perspectives on Tolkien fandom history and culture (https://www.silmarillionwritersguild.org/cultus-dispatches). As part of this project, we will ask fans to share their experiences of a particular aspect of the Tolkien fandom or its history.

Your answers will be published on the Silmarillion Writers' Guild (silmarillionwritersguild.org) as part of the Cultus Dispatches column and may be quoted in related articles.

For this specific column, we are looking for responses from fans who joined the Tolkien fandom entirely or in part because of the Peter Jackson film trilogies. We are curious about your experiences joining the Tolkien fandom as a film fan or while the films were in theaters. Note that you needn't have joined the fandom before reading the books; some of you will have been inspired to pick up the books because of the films and *then* joined the fandom. You're welcome to participate too. Your responses may be as brief or as detailed as you would like.
