Walgahi: Social Movements and Collective Memory with Jackie Abhulimen
"Walgahi: Conversations On Black Archiving" is a series of talks organised by the Association for Black Art_ists e.V.. (ASBA) in November and December 2021. The series will take place in cooperation with Interkultur Ruhr and PACT Zollverein and will be held in a hybrid format at PACT Zollverein in Essen and online via Zoom.

As part of the series, various individuals and organisations working on the topics of oral tradition, collective memories and other forms of archiving will be invited to provide insights into their practice. The aim is to create an intergenerational space where different approaches to archiving in the African diaspora and on the African continent can be shared.

Together with Jackie Abhulimen, Fayo Said and Marny Garcia Mommertz talk about participation in Black movements and different forms of archiving in this context. The conversation will be held in a safer space format for Black people.
