Application window is open until April 11, 2022 for consideration. You will receive a confirmation of of your row on April 15, 2022. If you participated in 2021 you are confirmed for a single row for this season. If you are a new participant you will be notified after April 15 if you are approved. The fee for using the garden space is $40/row for the season. This fee includes infrastructure needs for the garden; the use of basic equipment and the use of land and irrigation water. Make checks to James Strickler, be sure to email Bonnie when you submit payment. *

I am able to pay for my row, I will mail or deliver cash/check to James Strickler by April 15, 2022.

I am interested in applying for the limited garden scholarships and will provide a one-page interest letter that discusses my passion for gardening and need for assistance.

Gardeners Agreement: please check the following boxes if you agree to uphold the agreement as set forth. *

I will have my plot cleared, weeded and planted by June 15, then keep it maintained until the first frost. I will keep my plot weeded throughout the entire year, including spring and fall, as well as the pathways around my plot all the way up to my neighbor's plot.

For each plot that I hold, I agree to pay $40/row as payment for my use of the land and water, and to contribute to the needs of the garden.

I will support all the members of the community garden by offering help and assistance where needed. If I see weeds that need to be pulled, trash that needs to be picked up, or something that needs to be fixed or cleaned, I will pitch in to take care of it.

I will not expand beyond my assigned plot or into pathways. If I have vining plants I will trellis them out of the way of others gardening space. I agree to only plant varieties that will remain in the garden space for one year, and will not plant any invasive plants such as mint unless it in contained.

I will not plant any illegal plants. I will not smoke, drink alcoholic beverages or participate in any illegal behavior in the garden.

I will not use any pesticides in the garden without the approval of Bonnie Hopkins.

I will not take food from other garden plots. I will not take anything from the garden that is not rightfully mine.

I will work to keep the garden a happy, secure and enjoyable place where all participants can garden and socialize peacefully and in a neighborly manner.

I forfeit my right to sue the owner of the garden property or any employees or volunteers that assist in the garden.

I hereby give permission for the Old Farmhouse Community Garden to use any image, audio or video of my person or property in any of their publicity materials

I understand that if I do not adhere to the above listed rules of the garden that I may be asked to forfeit my row. I understand that after three attempts to contact me in regards to the violation of rules by the garden volunteers, without correction, that my rows will be forfeited.

I agree to not plant any plants in the squash family (summer, winter, etc. cucumbers and melons are OK)

I agree to abide by all social distancing and sanitation requirements posted a the garden

I agree to clean and empty my row of all objects and plants no later than November 11, 2022

By signing this form, I agree to indemnify and hold harmless all officers, agents and employees of the New Mexico State University, San Juan County Partnership, Mr. James Strickler and the Old Farmhouse Community Garden, from all claims, damages or actions of any kind resulting from acts or omissions, whether negligent or otherwise, which occur as a consequence of participation in or attendance at any program. I have read and fully understand the above Release and Indemnity. By signing I agree to adhere to all of the rules of the garden stated above.
