Fueling bodies and minds is crucial regardless of where the learning occurs! Talladega City Schools Child Nutrition Program wants to ensure that all students have access to meals. Therefore, we will be offering a meal pickup from 11:00-12:00 on designated days for students who have chosen to receive meals during our Virtual Learning time. Meal bags will be available by pre-order and will be charged in the same manner as in-school meals would be charged and depends on your child’s meal eligibility. Applications must be completed for the 2020-2021 school year. Last year's eligibility expires on September 30, 2020. Applications may be completed online at

Meal bags for students will contain 5 breakfasts and 5 lunches unless the week includes a holiday. MEALS ARE NOW FREE FOR ALL STUDENTS THROUGH DECEMBER 2020! Meal bags will be available for all students upon request. These meals follow the School Breakfast Program and National School Lunch Program meal pattern set by USDA. A combination of fresh, frozen, and shelf-stable foods will be in each student’s meal bag. Cold foods must be kept below 41°F. Frozen foods must be kept frozen until cooked. Foods that require cooking must be heated to 165°F.
INSTRUCTIONS: Please fill out an online order form that will be on the system website and/or social media for each student or family. An order form must be filled out for student(s) wanting to pick up meals.
MEAL PICK-UPS: Meals will be picked up at your child’s school on the designated day by last name.
Students with the Last Name ending A-E will pick up meals at their own schools on Tuesdays.
Students with the Last Name ending F-K will pick up meals at their own schools on Wednesdays.
Students with the Last Name ending L-R will pick up meals at their own schools on Thursdays.
Students with the Last Name ending S-Z will pick up meals at their own schools on Fridays.
The first meal pick-up will be Tuesday, August 25, 2020. This will be for 5 breakfasts and 5 lunches. Meals will be picked up at your child’s school. You do not have to get out of your vehicle. The meals will be passed through the car window.
If you need to cancel a pick-up, please notify the Lunchroom Manager at your pick-up location by 8:00 a.m. the day before pick up, either by telephone or email. If there are three consecutive days of no cancellation calls and no pick-up, your student may be removed from the meal pick up list.
ALLERGIES: If your child has a food allergy we must have a physician's order stating what their food allergy is and if there are any appropriate substitutes.
COST OF MEALS: ALL MEALS ARE FREE FOR ALL STUDENTS THROUGH DECEMBER 2020! Meals will not be served/distributed on any anticipated school closures or holidays. Parents may apply for free/reduced meals on line by going to

It is extremely important for all parents who think their students may qualify to fill out a Free or Reduced Meal application even if you opt out of the weekly meal pickups. In the event learning resumes to classrooms, your students will be ready to receive Free or Reduced meals at school without delay.
