Hello Creatives!

Welcome to the WOM{B}_anifesto.

Our first prototype event connecting artists to platforms around South Africa and Africa in response to topics surrounding gender-based issues.

We are interrogating the futures of creatives in a country where the 'Womb' has been to easily discarded from the daily discourses and dialogues whilst bodies and slaughtered in the name of the remainders of a patriarchal fallacy - we wish to restore power to our origins of life - the mother - whilst restoring ownership of space to the child - which grew from within without - and is a citizen of the world as much as they were a citizen on the womb. Join us in learning from artists how through their art they have tackled topics relating to challenges facing our country and its people - planting seeds for a future to which we can all harmoniously thrive in dialogue and discussion and divine dreaming.

This is an open call to join us in dialogue and learning - as well as begin to form part of a network of artists interested in art as the mediator to the madness through making and media.

8 participants will be selected to physically participate in workshops and to exhibit - however, there will be an online link to the workshop for everyone who signs up!

Throughout the workshop participants will create an artwork towards the exhibition to be held on May 1st 2021.

The following artists will be participating in providing unique workshops in professional practice as a creative.
