Three sessions: Aug 14, 17, and 19 (Sat-Tues-Thurs), 8:30-10:00am PDT online
During the Buddha’s lifetime and for several centuries after his death, monastic followers made a practice of recording their experience of awakening in verse.  These poems come down to us in two collections, the Therīgāthā and the Theragāthā—awakening poems of nuns and of monks.  The poems provide fascinating insight into the daily life, social setting, teachings, and culmination of practice in the early Buddhist sangha. Please join us as we explore these expressions of awakening, seeking in them both insight and inspiration.  The class will include dharmettes, guided meditations, Q&A, and small group discussion.
