What is the aim of the survey?
This survey has been prepared by Dorota Zurek (PBP member) and is being conducted by local
disability activists group of People Before Profit. It aims to capture a detailed picture of service
and legislation needs among families with disabled people/children in Ireland. We will be using the findings
to propose changes to the existing disability act and to develop more services for disabled children
and their families in Ireland. The results of the survey will be shared with PBP.
What are we trying to measure in this survey?
We want to identify some of the challenges that families with disabled people/children face in the country.
We would like to identify barriers in accessing services and any gaps in current legislation. We will be using the summarised information we collect to propose changes to the existing disability act, and will inform how we campaign going forward. The survey contains questions to get a detailed picture that looks at lots of different aspects of life and using services in Ireland.
