Thank you for showing interest to participate in the IPPNW Bike Tour 2020. The bike tour will take place in Kenya from 19th to 24th May, 2020 leading up to the XXIII IPPNW World Congress to be held in PrideInn Paradise Resort, Mombasa along the beautiful and sightly coast of Kenya. The tour will start in Naivasha. We will cycle all the way to Nairobi and then take the train to Mombasa.
At present, the United Nation describes Climate Change as the defining issue of our time. With the changing weather pattern that threatens food security and rising sea level increasing risk of catastrophic flooding, the impact of climate change imminent and unprecedented.
The IPPNW Bike Tour 2020 will be themed "Healthy Energy for Sustainable Development" and aims to sensitize the world on the climate action by use of healthy energy. This makes it a once-in-a-lifetime-chance to contribute to climate action by supporting or participating in the bike tour!
We want to use the mean of cycling to rouse people’s mind and to create a source of alternative thinking: What is meant by sustainable lifestyle? How does climate change affect peoples’ health? Which role does nuclear energy play in this context? How do climate protection and peace-work interlink?
Schedule of the tour (Subject to changes)
Tuesday, 19th: Arrival in Nairobi, joint travel to the starting point of the tour in Naivasha
Wednesday, 20th: Hell’s Gate National Park and Olkaria (visit of Geothermal Power Plant and flower farm)
Thursday, 22st: Naivasha – Kinungi (visit of primary school in Kinungi)
Friday, 22nd: Kinungi – Nairobi
Saturday, 23rd: Demonstration ride through Nairobi and activities in Nairobi
Sunday, 24th: Morning train to Mombasa
This form purposes to aid us as organizing team to make the whole event be a great success.

If you are interested in participating in the bike tour, we would kindly ask you to send your application as soon as possible. This will make the planing process easier for us. The official Early Bird Registration Deadline is 31st February,2020; Late Bird Registration is 31st March, 2020. if you would like to be considered for the IPPNW Bike Tour 2020 in Kenya.
We are still working on a detailed budget and will share information with you as soon as possible. We will do our best to do fundraising and gain additional sponsors. At the same time we would like to encourage every participant to do individual fundraising if possible.
