To further Illuman’s goal of Radical Belonging and align with Illuman’s mission of ‘men transforming men,’ small groups are being created to help interested men who identify as White or benefit from White Privilege, focus on the inner work necessary to facilitate successful anti-racism/anti-marginalism changes within Illuman and beyond.

These groups will use Layla Saad’s book “me and white and supremacy: Combat Racism, Change the World, and Become a Good Ancestor” as the format for each session. To participate, each man would obtain his own book (and optional workbook), make a commitment to record written responses to journal prompts within the book, and share those responses verbally with the group as time permits. Groups should be limited to 8 participants and independently determine their own meeting schedule and frequency. No particular experience is necessary as the “hosting” of the group will rotate among its members and the book provides a guide for group work. This is a vulnerable and challenging undertaking.
