Math League is
sponsoring a mathematics competition for gifted elementary and middle school
students this summer at The College of New Jersey. We will have two groups of students
participating: From July 16th until July 22nd, we will have about 120 Chinese,
and North American elementary school students in grades 4 and 5 on campus;
from July 23rd through July 30th, we will have
about 200 Chinese and North American middle school students in grades 6, 7, 8,
and 9 on campus.
Counselors will
live on campus with our participants at The College of NJ. (Counselors
may apply for one or both sessions.) Counselors will be responsible for
supervising the students as they move them from classroom to classroom, for
getting them ready for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and for supervising
leisure activities in the afternoon and evenings. The counselors will also
supervise the students in taking care of their residence rooms. Salary is $100
per day plus room and board. Although it is not a requirement, preference will
be given to candidates who speak Chinese. Counselors must be at least 18 years old. Parents of participants may not serve as counselors.
